Transition Chester was formed in 2008 following the concern of a number of residents about the climate change crisis becoming increasingly apparent.
It is part of an international movement that has been growing since 2005. It is about communities stepping up to address the big challenges they face of dwindling resources, climate change and increasing prices of energy by starting local.
Since it began the group has been involved in a number of initiatives and activities which have at their heart the growth of community connections and support for sustainable low carbon ways of working and living.
Current activities include:
- Chester Community Energy
- Incredible Edibles
- Morsbags Makeries
- Community Apple Pressings
- Group purchase of bulk wholefoods & household products
It’s a movement you can join. It is inspirational, positive, evolving, and if you’ve made it here, it may well be just what you’re looking for!
