Transition Chester has developed a “Sustainability Walk” located within Chester City Centre area .
The intention is to highlight features that exist right now that illustrate one or more sustainablity themes and to celebrate aspects of the City that many people may be unaware of that point to a more sustainable future.
The walk shows examples of
- sustainable design,
- sustainable lower carbon transport,
- renewable energy,
- energy conservation,
- a thriving local economy,
- biodiversity habitats and more…
A number of dates have been set up where you can take part in free guided walks, following the Sustainability Walk route

All walks start and finish at the Chester Bus Interchange at 13:00.
The walks last approximately 3 hours and cover a circular route around the city centre measuring some 7.6Km (4.5 miles) along paved (step free) paths.
